We loved staying at this villa! Four sisters and a sister-in-law traveled together and we came to Villa Monaldesca in Spello and stayed for four nights. Roberta is a wonderful host and went out of her way to make our stay fantastic. The villa is beautiful and looks professionally decorated, and we found out that Roberta decorated and oversaw renovations herself. We unfortunately received a parking ticket, and Roberta was gracious enough to bring the payment to the correct office for us. Spello is am amazing town, and we enjoyed doing day trips to Bavagna, Assisi, and Orvieto. We had a car, so we loved being out of the city center and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the villa after a long day of sightseeing. We would highly recommend this villa!

Roberta and Max have created a beautiful escape in Umbria that won’t disappoint! Our hosts made our stay perfect with recommendations to great restaurants, cooking classes and tastings. The villa was beautifully decorated inside and out and so warm and welcoming for our group. Roberta and Max were just a text away to make our visit perfect. I highly recommend Monaldesca Villa and hope to return soon!!

The best! It was the most beautiful peaceful piece of heaven imaginable. Deserves 1000 stars.
Roberta and Max have created a gem of a home that is a once in a lifetime experience. From the magnificent property that is maintained to perfection to the design and decoration which makes you feel that it should be in Architectural Digest. It is immaculate and provided with every amenity you could think of. Roberta and Max are delightful hosts and available to suggest and help you with anything you might need. The pool is gorgeous and we frequently chose to linger longer than we planned as it was so beautiful there. We even cooked meals using herbs and vegetables from their garden. There were many highlights and Roberta and Max were one of them! Any time we had a request it was handled immediately. We wanted to find a farm that provided truffle hunting with dogs and lunch afterwards. They found the best! If we needed advice on the hill towns or where to buy the best olive oil or try the wine vineyards they were eager to suggest. Of course there were wines available from the local wineries in their home waiting for you. They didn’t miss a thing. Truly if we could have stayed longer we would have. One week wasn’t enough for us and we certainly plan to come back. We couldn’t have asked for more. We have traveled often and stayed at very luxurious hotels and you couldn’t beat this! Magnificent.

Such a beautiful home, beautifully decorated , lots of great amenities ( coffee maker, clothes steamer, candles etc, there was nothing I missed from home!) , wonderful pool and basketball court that the kids loved and special treats left for us every day. I literally smiled every time I walked into a room because it felt like such a retreat. Hosts are lovely and super easy to work with and were very helpful with any questions and suggestions. Great location from which to visit lots of towns in the area. Short drive to stunning Spello and fascinating Assisi. We had one rainy day which we actually loved as we could sit under covered patio and watch the skies change color. We would easily stay here again. Thanks Roberta and Massimo

I can only agree with the other reviewer that this villa with its garden and pool deserves a thousand stars, also for us it was the best place we have ever stayed in! The villa is beautifully decorated and very spacious, everything was just perfect. Thank you so much for everything, Roberta and Massimo, we had a super relaxing time.

Quel bonheur d’être accueillis et gâtés par Roberta et son mari… Déjà à l’arrivée, Roberta nous a montré la maison avec de l’enthousiasme mais aussi avec discrétion. Le couple habite dans une maison à côté de la villa mais respecte vraiment la vie familiale des hôtes. Toujours à notre service, par what’s app ou comme on voulait, pour nous donner les meilleurs conseils concernant restos, magasins, villages à visiter. La maison en soi: on ne pourrait pas rêver mieux: belle grande maison, très fraîche à l’intérieur (la nuit, il fait 20°C donc si on ouvre les fenêtres la nuit et quand on garde tout fermé la journée, il y fait super agréable.) En plus, clima en haut si jamais il fait encore trop chaud. Les pièces sont vraiment comme sur les photos: belles, spacieuses et décorées avec du goût. De grandes chambres, avec dans une netflix, qu’ont a adoré les enfants pendant la sieste. Dans la cuisine, il y a tout ce qui faut, même pour faire un grand repas. Dehors, c’est le paradis: des petits coins dans l’ombre ou au plein soleil, des fauteuils, des tables et des chaises pour se reposer, pour un apéro ou pour prendre un bain de soleil. Une piscine dont on rêve: petits plateaux pour commencer sur lequel peuvent jouer les plus petits, puis une piscine de 1.50m pour nager ou jouer. Tout est super bien entretenu: pelouse verte, piscine propre, potager agréable duquel on peut manger les tomates et courgettes. Les villages autour sont sympa: Spello est authentique, comme Cannara et Bevagna. Puis Foligno, c’est une ville très chouette, avec de beaux magasins. Pour le reste, nous n’avons pas visité ni Assisi, ni Perugia, pourtant prévu, mais la maison était trop agréable, le jardin trop tentant de les quitter… Nous avons profité pleinement de nos vacances et conseillons avec tout notre coeur Villa Monaldesca.
